Select Science interviews Elena Barbaro from the Ca’Foscari University of Venice.
Her main focus is to develop a new method to investigate environmental tracers. She looks at sugar in the snow, ice and air samples found in the antarctic.
When analyzing the samples she uses ion chromatography with mass spectrometer. For this Ultrapure Water is needed as the water is used to extract the sample and is used as mobile phase. For ion chromatography, it is very important to have low conductivity of the water.
Elena uses the Purelab Flex 2 to produce Ultrapure Water, it is easy to use and very stable, which means the analysis is done at a high standard to achieve accurate, reliable results.
